It’s a co-formulation of two new active ingredients; prothioconazole that provides all the activity you’d expect against seed-borne and seedling diseases from the best single purpose dressing, and clothianidin, that adds advanced insecticidal activity to protect crops against barley yellow dwarf virus and grain hollowing caused by early slug attacks from the day you drill.

In more detail the advantages it brings to winter cereal crops are:

Accurate timing of aphicide sprays can be difficult. The trend towards very early herbicide treatments has increased the complication. For best results they need to be applied as soon as the first aphids come in. And with all the other distractions of autumn workload this can be easy to miss.

Redigo Deter removes this problem by providing pest protection in advance. It’s ready and waiting when the first aphid attacks and provides the systemic activity to disrupt aphid feeding and control them before they have a chance to infect developing plants.

Crops drilled before 10^th October usually need two aphicide treatments. Redigo Deter can eliminate the need for one of these and in some cases replace both. So in addition to seeing your crops safely through the critical phase of infection risk it can also ease autumn workload and reduce production costs.

Slugs – prevention of grain hollowing from drilling to emergenceGrain hollowing can be much more damaging to establishment and yield than slug grazing post emergence. If a slug eats a seed a whole plant is lost and if slugs are abundant at drilling very poor emergence can result.

Redigo Deter reduces this type of damage by providing a zone of protection on and around the seed that deters slug feeding from the moment the crop is sown. The result is far more rapid and even emergence to set you up with a higher yield potential crop.

If slug risk continues high post emergence, Redigo Deter’s seed protection needs to be followed up with slug pellet application to maintain protection against leaf grazing until plants are past the vulnerable stage, which is normally up to tillering.
